Drone pilot questions — Austria
What licence do I need to fly drones commercially in Austria?
Austria follows EU drone rules via Austro Control: operator registration, online A1/A3 test, 120 m Open-category limit. Commercial work: EU operator registration; A1/A3 test for Open category. The drone itself also has to be registered. Always confirm the current rules with Austro Control before you fly — HireDronePilot never issues, sells or trains licences, and the operating authorisation is your responsibility.
Is it free to list drone services in Austria?
Yes. Creating a profile and listing your services is free — there is no listing fee and no paid placement. You set your own day, weekly, monthly and trial-day rates, and you decide which hire requests to accept.
Do I need my own drone and insurance to join?
Yes — you fly your own equipment and are responsible for your own insurance, registration and operating authorisation. Your profile is where you show certifications, licences, the aircraft you fly and your portfolio, so clients can see exactly what they are booking.
